There are 3 types of visas to study Japanese in Japan

HOW LONG CAN I STUDY IN JAPAN?

To study in Japan for only a short time you can enter the country with a tourist visa. Most passports allow you to stay for up to 90 days, you can check the details on the JNTO website

As for Spanish nationality, a Spaniard can stay in Japan without a visa for up to 90 days, so if your intention is to enroll in a short-term course, less than 90 days, it is not necessary to apply for a visa. If you plan to stay longer, you will need a student visa.

SHORT-TERM COURSES - What are the possibilities of these courses?

You must have another type of valid visa, as it is not possible to apply for a student visa for this type of program. You will have the right to apply for a visapossibility to study from 2 weeks.

  4. Working Holiday Visa (WHV): The Working Holiday Visa is an option for young people who wish to have a work and study experience in Japan. This visa allows you to work full- or part-time while studying or travelling in the country. Agreements and requirements may vary depending on the country of origin, so it is important to check the eligibility and specific terms of each Working Holiday program.

LONG-TERM COURSES - What are the possibilities of these courses?

If you are interested in studying in Japan for a longer period, between 6 months and 2 years, you can apply for a student visa. This visa will allow you to study at a level ranging from beginner to advanced, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Japanese language and culture in depth. The student visa is specifically for those who wish to undertake long-term studies in Japan. This visa allows you to study in Japan for the duration of the program.

An added advantage of the student visa is that it allows you to work up to 28 hours per week during the academic term. This gives you the chance to gain work experience and improve your skills while studying in Japan.

Student Visa Requirements

Depending on your personal situation and the school you have chosen, additional documents may be required. In this case, your dreamer agent will provide you with the necessary assistance with these documents.

It is important to note that schools have deadlines for submitting visa applications to the Immigration Department of Japan. If students do not provide the required documents on time, the school will not be able to apply for the visa. Therefore, it is advisable to submit the documents as soon as possible. Once you have submitted your application, you will need to wait to receive the Certificate of Eligibility (COE), which is sent to the local Japanese embassy. This document is required to obtain a student visa. Typically, you will receive the COE approximately one month before your arrival date in Japan to begin your studies.

Once you have obtained the COE, you will need to contact the Japanese embassy in your country to apply for your student visa. The visa application and issuance process may vary by country, so it is important to follow the instructions provided by the embassy.
