In today's post, I want to share with you some information and a brief summary of my recent visit to Pikachu Sweets by Pokemon Cafe in Japan ^ ^ It was our first time going to this place, which makes it even more special, and I'm excited. Are you ready to find out?
Pikachu Sweets by Pokemon Cafe in Ikebukuro
Pikachu Sweets by Pokemon Cafe It is located in Ikebukuro inside the shopping center Sunshine City. I think that Sunshine City itself should be a must on your visit to Japan, it has a Pokemon Center and all the kawaii and geeky stores you can imagine like Kiddyland, ShinChan, Snoopy, One piece, Studio Ghibli…and a wide selection of restaurants and cafes.
Pikachu Sweets by Pokemon Cafe in Ikebukuro is in the second floor in front of the Pokemon Center and next to the Pokemon Card Game Station.

- About 8 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station on the JR Line, Tokyo Metro, Seibu Line and Tobu Line
- About 4 minutes walk from Higashi-Ikebukuro 4-domed station on the Toden Arakawa line
What is the interior like?
Pikachu Sweets by Pokemon Coffee It is the first "To Go" style coffee in Pokemonn Cafe, since unlike the Pokemon Cafe, there are no tables for customers. The important thing is that you can enjoy sweets and drinks in pure style Pokemon.
There are some high tables though, but since Pikachu Sweets is still primarily a kiosk, takeaway food, and standing room is limited, the store encourages customers not to linger too long at these tables, however you can take advantage to do as many photos as possible of your Poke food and photograph the interior of the cafe from all angles.
In Pikachu Sweets Cafe, There are a bunch of adorable Pikachus decorating the walls. And what's even more charming is that the pictures of the Pikachus on the wall are the same stuffed animals that adorn the centerpieces. It's a clever and adorable touch which adds even more magic to the atmosphere of the place. Every corner is filled with that wonderful energy Pokemon that makes you feel like you are inside the world of these adorable characters.
Trying their food
Ordering is super easy, just follow the footprints to the order counter and place your order with the friendly staff! We ordered two Pocketful Drink Set , the commemorative menu for the launch of the latest title, “Scarlet Violet.” When you order one of these Sets you will receive a random sticker «Pikachu Sweets Original Sticker» (5 types) as a gift!
The Pikachu Sweets Pokefuru either waffles They came in the most original packaging and looked absolutely adorable. The set included a Get Latte with a surprise Pokemon in its foam, since they don't let you choose which one... Apart from this, we ordered a I've decided on you!! Orange Frappe ~Scarlet of orange and a I've decided on you!! Grape Frappe of grape.
TIP: Before ordering, check the menu on the giant screen to see which items are already sold out.
And what is a themed cafe without exclusive products and items? Well, Pikachu Sweets is no exception.
Just like in the Pokemon Cafe, Pikachu Sweets displays most of its products in the store so you can see what they really look like. There are a few Exclusive mug covers that can only be purchased at the Pikachu Sweets store and if you pay 550 yen (taxes included) or 770 yen (tax included) plus for each drink, you can take home a new cup sleeve of your choice, unfortunately they were Sold Out…
However, we ordered our frappes with the straw. Super kawaii with a charm for 1,634 yen (taxes and drinks included).
Dreamer Review – Is Pikachu Sweets worth visiting?
Well, like the Pokemon Cafe is extremely popular in Japan and is often booked months in advance. If you find yourself in the Ikebukuro area and can't manage to get a reservation, Pikachu Sweets is an excellent alternative to enjoy the magic of Pokémon. Here you can delight in delicious desserts and themed drinks in a charming atmosphere without the need for an advance reservation.
Now the part less goodIt's not the best themed cafe food I've tried so far, but the frappés and lattes did leave a good taste in my mouth. It's not a typical cafe and you can't enjoy the experience sitting quietly, but... would I go back? Absolutely yes, I will do so and give a menu update!
Visit Pikachu Sweets - DREAMER TIP
We were able to order in our second attempt, it is best to go shortly after openingOtherwise, you risk the long lines making you not want to waste that precious time that you could spend at the Ghibli store, Pokemon Center...
Also, avoid visiting Pikachu Sweets on weekends.
