Thinking about traveling to Malaysia? 🌇🍍 Get ready for a land of contrasts: futuristic skyscrapers next to centuries-old temples, heavenly beaches, jungles teeming with life and food... oh my, what food!
From the night markets of Penang to the crystalline waters of the Perhentian Islands, Malaysia is a brutal cultural cocktail: Malays, Chinese, Indians, and indigenous communities coexist and are reflected in every corner, every dish, and every festival.
For me, Malaysia is one of those destinations that surprises you more than you expected, blending modernity and tradition without losing its essence... and with some of the most spectacular street food in Southeast Asia. 😋
WHAT AWAITS YOU IN MALAYSIA
🗣 Language: The official language is Malay, but English is widely spoken, especially in cities and tourist areas. It's very easy to communicate! And if you learn to say terima kasih (thank you) or selamat page (good morning), you earn smiles.
💰 Currency: Malaysian ringgit (MYR). Everything is quite cheap compared to Europe or Australia. You can pay by card in many places, but for markets or street stalls, it's best to bring some cash.
🍛 Traditions: Malaysia is a multicultural country with a strong Islamic presence, so it's important to dress respectfully in rural or religious areas (covering shoulders and knees in mosques, for example). People also eat with their right hands in some traditional settings, and people often remove their shoes when entering homes or temples.

WHEN TO TRAVEL TO MALAYSIA
Malaysia has an equatorial climate: heat, humidity, and rain throughout the year, although this varies depending on the area.
☀️ The best time to go to the west coast (Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang) is from November to March. ☀️ For the east coast (Perhentian, Redang, Tioman), the ideal is April to September. 🌧 Avoid the monsoons if you want to enjoy the beaches. From October to February, it rains a lot in the east, and many islands close.
🇲🇾 DREAMER TIP: Bring light clothing, flip-flops, insect repellent, a jacket for shopping malls (polar air conditioning!), and a lot of hunger. The food is insane!
Ready to be amazed by Malaysia? 🇲🇾 It's one of those destinations that you don't often hear about, but that stays with you. And the best part: you can combine city, jungle, beach, and culture without leaving the country!
Have a good trip, selamat jalan, now enjoy like a dreamer!
