World Paella Day - From Spain to the World

Valencian paella is a traditional Spanish dish that originated in the autonomous community of Valencia, located on the east coast of Spain. Its origins are believed to be in the Albufera, an area located near the capital of Valencia, since this area is known for its rice production.

It is one of the most typical dishes in Spain, although like all dishes there are different regional versions, but the classic version is the Valencian Paella.

Essential ingredients for paella

The ingredients that a Valencian Paella must have are:

  • Rice
  • Saffron
  • Olive oil
  • Chicken rabbit
  • Crushed tomato, garrofón, green beans and red pepper
  • water
